NEWS / Multimedial: S3 kündigt OmniChrome Grafikkarte an

Heute hat S3 die "OmniChrome Hi-Def" AGP 8x Grafikkarte angekündigt, welche auf dem DirectX 9 DeltaChromeS4 Nitro Chip basiert. Die Karte ist voll auf multimedialen Einsatz ausgelegt und hat somit einen TV-Tuner von Philips, Video-Decoder, Video Input/Output und HDTV-Support für hohe Bildqualität auch per Video Out.

Zudem besitzt die Karte eine programmierbare Video-Engine namens Chromotion. In Sachen Stromverbrauch und Abwärme soll sich die OmniChrome Grafikkarte auch sehr zurückhalten, was für den Einsatz in Media-Centers sehr zum Vorteil ist. Zum Preis wurde noch nichts genaues bekannt. Dr. Gerry Liu, VP of Marketing bei S3 Graphics Inc. sagte noch folgendes.
